Columbia Man Adds $1,000 To Christmas Fund

Story Photo A Columbia brick layer will be ringing in the holidays with an extra $1,000 this year after he uncovered the prize on a "Super Ruby Red 7’s" Scratchers ticket on Nov. 16. Dennis McClain, 40, said he stopped in Moser’s Price Chopper in Columbia to buy some cigarettes and Lottery tickets, and later scratched the $1,000 winning ticket in his car. McClain and his wife, Selina, said they planned to use some of the money for Christmas gifts for their children. In the past two years, McClain has won at least five $1,000 prizes and one $30,000 prize playing Scratchers. "Super Ruby Red 7’s," a $5 game, officially went on sale Sept. 9.
