HOUSE SPRINGS WOMAN SCRATCHES OFF $24,000

A 45-year-old waitress from House Springs scratched off $2,000 a month for one year in the Missouri Lottery’s "Millennium Money" instant game. Cathy O’Brien purchased her winning ticket yesterday at Dierbergs-Lemay, 2516 Lemay Ferry Road in St. Louis, while she was waiting for her mother to do some grocery shopping. She only bought four of the tickets before uncovering the prize worth $24,000. O’Brien first thought she had only won $2,000. It wasn’t until later last night, when she and her husband looked at the ticket more carefully, that she discovered she’d won $2,000 a month for a year, or $24,000. "It was like winning all over again," O’Brien said of the discovery. O’Brien said she’ll use some of the money to buy her husband a new car, and she plans to pay bills and take a little vacation. "Millennium Money" is a new $2 game offered by the Missouri Lottery with a top prize of $2,000 a week for one year - $104,000. More than 63 percent of the game’s sales will be returned to players as prizes. The Missouri Lottery isthe Official Lottery of the New Millennium!
