Sturgeon Woman Wins $1,000 Scratchers Prize

A Sturgeon woman may be starting her Christmas shopping a little earlier this year after she uncovered a $1,000 prize on a Missouri Lottery "Season’s Greetings" Scratchers game. Joe Bowne, 57, said she is planning to spoil her four kids and grandkids this year. Bowne, who is a retired truck and school bus driver, said she went to Break Time, 117 Highway 22 W. in Centralia, on Nov. 1 to buy Scratchers tickets. She bought one of the $5 "Season’s Greetings" tickets and won $5. She redeemed that $5 ticket for another, and that ticket turned out to be worth $1,000. "Season’s Greetings" officially went on sale Oct. 30.
