Boonville Man Wins $3,125 Playing Pick 4

Story Photo A stop at a New Franklin store for a few groceries helped to make a Boonville man $3,125 richer after his Pick 4 ticket matched all four numbers drawn Oct. 30. James Smith, 64, a retired union carpenter, said he frequently stops by the business to get groceries and a few lottery tickets, but he didn?t expect his $1 Quick Pick ticket to win big. ?I?d been hoping to win, but I guess you really don?t expect it to happen,? Smith said. Smith purchased his ticket on Oct. 30 at Snoddy?s Store, 416 Highways 5 & 40 in New Franklin. The winning numbers were: 2, 3, 6 and 7. Smith said he plans to put the majority of his winnings in the bank for now. Pick 4 is a daily Numbers Game that offers players a chance to win up to $6,000 by picking four numbers between 0 and 9. Players can also allow the computer to generate four numbers randomly for them.
