O'Fallon Retiree Wins Grand-Prize Harley Motorcycle

An O’Fallon man can see Missouri’s beautiful fall foliage on his new Harley-Davidson Heritage Softail Classic motorcycle after his name was drawn in the Missouri Lottery’s "Ticket to Ride" grand-prize drawing held Oct. 5. Jack Bishop, 64, of O’Fallon said he "had chills" when he found out he won the grand prize.
"We (Bishop and his wife, Kathy) rode a motorcycle for years," he said. "But it was stolen and never recovered. That was about 20 years ago."
Bishop said he has wanted another motorcycle for years.
"I told everybody I was going to win this," said Bishop, who retired from his automotive repair business a little more than a year ago. He was also a truck driver for many years.
Along with the motorcycle, Bishop will also receive a $500 gift certificate valid at a Missouri Harley-Davidson dealership and a Harley-Davidson prize package. The grand-prize package is worth more than $25,000.
In addition to the grand-prize drawing, 150 entrants’ names were also drawn Oct. 5 to win Harley-Davidson prize packages. The unofficial list of names can be found on the Missouri Lottery’s Web site, molottery.com, and winners will be contacted by mail or e-mail. The drawing will be official when all winners, who entered the promotion through the Web site, have submitted their actual tickets. The prize packages include a Harley-Davidson neon wall clock, MONOPOLY® game, blanket, T-shirt and playing cards.
According to Missouri Lottery records, approximately 31,611 entries were received for the third drawing; approximately 14,611 entries - about 46.2 percent - were received through the Web site and approximately 17,000 entries were received through postal mail or dropped off at Lottery offices. When entries from all three drawings were combined, the final grand-prize drawing consisted of approximately 577,993 entries.
Players entered the drawings using non-winning "Harley-Davidson" Scratchers tickets. For more information about the promotion and winners, go to the Missouri Lottery’s Web site at www.molottery.com.
