St. Charles Man Wins $100,000 Scratchers Prize

Michael Woytus of St. Charles recently uncovered a prize of $100,000 on a Missouri Lottery “$100,000 Money Multiplier” Scratchers ticket, a $5 game he said he does not normally play.

“I’m more of a $2 and $5 [ticket] guy,” he explained. “We play a $30 roll together at work on paydays, but as far as individually, I play $2s and $5s mostly.”

After purchasing his winning ticket from Aro-Mart, 3755 Harvester Road in St. Peters, he scratched it on another morning while parked at different convenience store.

“I thought I won $50,000 at first,” Woytus recalled. “But I missed a ‘10X’ $5,000.”

Going into the convenience store, he decided to show it to the clerk.

“I had the guy come over and look at it, and he was like, ‘Holy cow!’”
After reexamining the ticket, Woytus saw he had indeed won $100,000, the second-highest prize available in the game.

In the most recent fiscal year, players in St. Charles County won more than $47.9 million in Missouri Lottery prizes. Retailers in the county received more than $4.9 million in commissions and bonuses, and an additional $9.2 million went to educational programs in the county.
