$50,000 Powerball Prize Won in Phelps County

Rolla resident Jerry Slates won a $50,000 prize in the Feb. 5 Powerball drawing. He purchased his winning ticket at VFW Post 2025, 15035 S. Highway 63, in Rolla.

Slates won his prize by matching four out of the five white-ball numbers, as well as the Powerball number drawn. The winning numbers on Feb. 5 were: 23, 30, 35, 41 and 57, with a Powerball number of 2.

Powerball is a $2 per play multi-state Draw Game that features jackpots starting at $40 million. Powerball drawings are held on Wednesdays and Saturdays at 9:59 p.m. Current and past winning numbers can be found at MOLottery.com.

Slate’s win adds to the prizes won by players in Phelps County, who won more than $9.8 million last fiscal year. Retailer in Phelps County received more than $717,000 in incentives and commissions, and an additional $1.8 million went to educational programs in Phelps County.
