Kansas City, Kan., Security Guard Nabs Fistful of Cash

A security guard for Proctor and Gamble in Kansas City, Kan., nabbed a $30,000 top prize on a Missouri Lottery "Fistful of $50’s" Scratchers ticket. Judith "Judy" Day, of Kansas City, Kan., said she plans to use her prize winnings to get her leaking roof fixed, put a fence in her yard and go out for a steak dinner.
Day purchased her winning ticket on July 22 at Red X, 2401 N.W. Platte Road in Riverside. She bought three $2 tickets. The big winner was the second one she scratched off.
"When I saw the comma, I couldn’t believe it," she said, retelling when she uncovered the amount under the latex on the ticket.
The Missouri Lottery’s $2 "Fistful of $50’s" game officially started March 27.
