SALISBURY FRIENDS SHARE MILLION-DOLLAR BONUS

Two Salisbury friends are sharing more than stories after they uncovered $1,000 a week for 20 years in the Missouri Lottery’s "Weekly Bonus" instant game last week. Michael Woodworth, 46, and Keeli J’Nae Linneman, 37, said they began buying instant tickets together about three weeks ago. After their initial purchase parlayed into some winning tickets, they kept reinvesting their winnings in lottery tickets until they scratched off the "Weekly Bonus" ticket worth a total of $1,040,000 on Feb. 24. "J’Nae scratched the ticket off at the bar," said Woodworth. "Everyone at the bar had to look at it first to make sure it was a winner. We didn’t let them look at it too long." Woodworth, the owner of McTag’s Bar & Grill in Salisbury, said he isn’t sure what he’ll do with his share of the prize. Linneman said she’ll use her share to pay off bills. The duo purchased their winning ticket at Wright’s One Stop, Highway 24 and West Second Street in Salisbury. The two’s prize is one of the largest ever offered instantly in a Missouri Lottery Scratchers game. Their win is the first top prize uncovered in the "Weekly Bonus" instant game, which officially began Dec. 19, 1998, and the sixth prize worth more than $1 million sold in any instant Missouri Lottery game. To date, 146 winning Missouri Lottery tickets worth $1 million or more have been sold since the lottery began in January 1986. (Television Note: A satellite feed of the conference will be broadcast at 6:45 p.m. CT Wednesday night, March 3, immediately before the lottery’s drawing show.
