Jefferson City Man Wins $3,000 Playing Club Keno

Story Photo A Jefferson City man and his wife are going to enjoy a cruise to Mexico even more after he won $3,000 on July 22 playing Club Keno at American Legion, 1423 Tanner Bridge Road in Jefferson City. John Utrecht, 53, said he and his wife, Beth, had decided to spend the stormy evening at the local veterans? organization where he played the game. Utrecht said he purchased his ticket and later went back to see if it was a winner. ?I asked the barkeep to check the ticket for me, and she told me that I won $3,000,? Utrecht said. ?I didn?t believe her.? After collecting his prize from the Lottery?s headquarters in Jefferson City on Friday, he said the prize winnings will pay for a cruise next spring that he and his wife had already planned to take. Utrecht, who works for the Missouri State Office of Administration, purchased a nine-spot ticket and all nine of his numbers matched nine of the numbers drawn. Club Keno began in May 2002. Players can win from $1 to $100,000 per $1 ticket per drawing. Players who use Bulls-Eye could win between $2 and $50 for matching just the Bulls-Eye number and as much as $300,000 by matching all 10 numbers, including the Bulls-Eye number, in a 10-spot $1 game.
