Annada Handywoman Whips Up $300,000 Win

Story Photo A self-employed handywoman from Annada fixed herself and her family up good, after she uncovered a $300,000 top prize on a Missouri Lottery Scratchers ticket on June 14. Patti Ann Vrsnik, 43, said she still can’t believe her good fortune. "I still have to wake up from this dream," she said when she claimed her prize on June 15. Vrsnik said she bought her winning ticket on June 14 at Abel’s Quik Shop in Elsberry. She cashed in a $10 winning ticket, and with that money, she bought one $10 ticket from the "$300,000 Cash Spectacular" Scratchers game. She scratched it off in the parking lot and told her friend, "I think I won $100,000." Vrsnik’s friend took the ticket and proceeded to scratch the latex all the way off. "She told me, ’You’d better sit down, because you won a lot more than that,’" Vrsnik recalled. Vrsnik and her husband, Adolph Jr., said they plan to use the prize money to buy a brand new truck. "$300,000 Cash Spectacular," a $10 Scratchers game, officially went on sale March 27.
