Russellville Woman Wins $5,000 Playing Powerball

Story Photo Playing family birthdays in the Missouri Lottery’s Powerball game finally paid off for a Russellville woman. Donna McConville, 52, said she has been playing the same set of numbers for the past eight years. On May 5, five of those numbers were drawn in Powerball to make her ticket worth $5,000. The only number that didn’t match was her birthday, 29. Her five winning numbers were: 9, 16, 21, 25 and the Powerball number was 8. "I don’t really have any plans for it (prize money)," she said. "I’ll probably just put it in the bank. I might give a small amount to my grandchildrens’ school." McConville purchased her winning ticket at Mertens Mini Mart, Highway C and Simpson St. in Russellville.
