Lee's Summit Woman Wins $10,000 On Way To Work

A Lee’s Summit woman made an extra $10,000 on her way to work on April 24, when she stopped in QuikTrip for a sweet roll and a couple of Missouri Lottery tickets. Patricia "Pat" Vaverka, 65, said she bought one $10 ticket from the "$300,000 Cash Spectacular" instant game and one $5 ticket, when she stopped at QuikTrip, 1001 S.W. Blue Parkway in Lee’s Summit. The $10 ticket turned out to be worth $10,000.
"I’ll use it (prize money) to pay off my car and maybe on a few personal wants," said Vaverka, who works at Cracker Barrel in Independence.
"$300,000 Cash Spectacular," a $10 Scratchers game, officially began March 27.
