MILAN RETIREE WINS $25,000

A Milan man is $25,000 richer after matching all five numbers in last night’s SHOW ME 5 drawing. Daymond Harlan, 77, said he’s not sure how he will use his winnings, but that some of it will "go back into the economy." Harlan purchased his winning ticket at Kozy Korner, Third Street & Highway 5 in Milan. He selected the lucky number combination at random several years ago. The winning numbers were: 5, 10, 12, 24 and 27. Harlan’s ticket is the 707th SHOW ME 5 ticket sold worth $25,000 tax paid* since the game began in November 1994. * Twenty-eight percent federal and 4 percent state taxes are withheld from the total prize amount of $36,764.70 to provide $25,000 cash at the time of redemption. Depending on personal income, winners may owe additional taxes for the prize, or they may receive a refund.
