Joplin Truck Driver Nabs Fistful of Wedding Winnings

A Joplin truck driver now has "the money to get married" after he uncovered a $30,000 top prize on a Missouri Lottery Scratchers ticket. Ricky Stewart, 27, said he and his fiancée, Angelene, also plan to use some of the money to set up house.
"We just bought a house, and the money will help furnish it," he said.
Stewart said he stopped in Mr. Y’s Stop N Go in Joplin on April 15 to cash in a winning $5 Scratches ticket. With those winnings, he bought two $2 tickets from the "Fistful of $50’s" Scratchers game, and he bought a soda with the remaining dollar. To his surprise, one of the two tickets was worth $30,000.
"She was bawling," he explained, when he described scratching off the latex in the car with his fiancée, who is a pre-school teacher.
The Missouri Lottery’s $2 "Fistful of $50’s" game officially started March 27.
