Rolla Retiree Uncovers $1,000 Prize
A Rolla retiree found a $1,000 prize when he scratched off the latex on a "$300,000 Fortune" Scratchers ticket on March 24. Loran Cook said he bought just one ticket when he stopped in UMR Moto Mart, 200 S. Bishop Ave. in Rolla, that morning.
When asked what he would do with his prize money, Cook said, "I’ll pay bills."
Cook retired from the U.S. Air Force and from Switzer Corp. in Rolla.
"$300,000 Fortune," a $10 Scratchers game, officially went on sale Sept. 13, 2004.
