A change in scenery was just the ticket for Arthur Wilson of Keokuk. The Iowa resident decided to try his luck on a Missouri Lottery Scratchers ticket at a new location, and the last-minute call resulted in a $100,000 payout.

“I was getting gas and Lottery tickets down the street, and I didn’t win anything,” Wilson explained. “So I went on down the street.”

His second stop at U.S. 61, 36674 Highway 61 in Alexandria, made him stop in his tracks. It was there that he uncovered a $100,000 top prize on a “$100,000 Money Vault Multiplier” Scratchers ticket.

“I almost wasn’t going to pull in there,” Wilson noted in disbelief, still amazed at the outcome.

“I was surprised. Shocked, actually,” he added. “I wasn’t expecting that kind of money.”

Wilson headed to the Lottery’s St. Louis office that very afternoon to claim his top prize.

“I’ve always put my bucket list on hold, and now I just don’t know…” he said. “I’ve got to get my mind wrapped around it.”

“$100,000 Money Vault Multiplier” is a $5 ticket that went on sale May 29. More than $7.3 million in unclaimed prizes remain in the game, including two more top prizes of $100,000.
