Kansas City Woman Buys Time, Wins Cash

Story Photo Going to 7-Eleven to buy minutes for her cell phone turned out to be worth $30,000 for a Kansas City (64133) woman. Nikki Lee, 26, said when she went to the 7-Eleven store, located at 11001 E. 23rd St. in Independence, on March 16, she also bought two $2 Missouri Lottery Scratchers tickets. When she scratched off the latex on the "Diamond Bingo" game at her mom’s house later, she found out it was worth $30,000. "I had eight people check it," she said when recalling her discovery. Lee plans to use the money to find a new place to live. She may also buy a car. The Missouri Lottery’s $2 "Diamond Bingo" game officially started Dec. 24, 2003.
