If Nila Kukan needs to call her husband while he’s at work, it’s typically only for emergencies. When the Winfield resident rushed to call her husband on July 5, it was the good kind of emergency.

“He kept telling me to calm down so he could understand what I was saying. I couldn’t believe it myself,” said Kukan.

The Winfield resident had just uncovered a $100,000 prize on a Missouri Lottery “Money Money Millionaire” Scratchers ticket. Kukan said the ticket was an unplanned purchase while getting a soda at Casey’s General Store, 3955 E. Highway 47 in Winfield, on June 5.

“My husband plays more often than I do, and it’s usually Powerball,” said Kukan. “I’ll get a ticket every once in a while.”

Kukan played the $10 “Money Money Millionaire” ticket after returning home, and she soon realized her ticket was unlike any she had seen before.

“Every number matched and had $5,000 prizes,” recalled Kukan, who matched all 20 numbers to win a $100,000 prize. “I started screaming, and my son came running over thinking that something was wrong.”

The following day, Kukan claimed her ticket at the Lottery’s St. Louis office. The Winfield resident said she plans to take her family “somewhere with a beach” to celebrate.

Introduced on June 10, “Money Money Millionaire” is a $10 Scratchers ticket with prizes ranging from $10 to $1 million. Kukan claimed one of 14 $100,000 prizes in the game. An updated list of all remaining Scratchers prizes can be found at MOLottery.com and on the Lottery’s app.
