Poplar Bluff Daycare Worker Wins $10,000 In Monopoly

Story Photo A Poplar Bluff daycare worker will be able to rest more easily after she uncovered a $10,000 prize on a Missouri Lottery "Super MONOPOLY" Scratchers ticket. Janet Eason, 46, said she plans to use some of her prize money to buy a new bedroom set. "We’ll probably give the kids some," she added, when she claimed her prize on March 8. Eason said she stopped in Hucks Food Store, 703 N. Westwood Blvd., in Poplar Bluff on Feb. 23 after work to cash in a $10 winning Scratchers ticket. With her prize money, she bought one $5 "Super MONOPOLY" ticket and three other instant tickets. When she scratched off the latex coating in the car, she realized she won $10,000. "I couldn’t talk," she said. In addition to a new bedroom set and sharing some money with her two grown children, Eason and her husband, Earl, plan to use some money to pay off bills. "Super MONOPOLY," a $5 Scratchers game, officially began Dec. 25, 2003.
