La Monte Police Chief Wins $30,000 Lottery Prize

Story Photo The chief of police for the city of La Monte plans to pay off some real estate after he uncovered a $30,000 top prize in the Missouri Lottery’s new "Triple Money Bags" Scratchers game. Dennis Rogers, 43, La Monte said he stopped at Break Time, 318 W. Broadway in Sedalia, on Feb. 19 to buy Dr Pepper soft drinks for himself and his two children. While there, he spent $7 on a few Lottery tickets and ended up winning $30,000. "I might buy a truck," he said, when he claimed his prize at the Missouri Lottery’s Jefferson City office. "I’ll also do a little shopping and put some money in the bank." "Triple Money Bags," a $2 Scratchers game, officially began on Jan. 31.
