Joplin Janitor Picks Up $9,000

Story Photo A janitor in Joplin picked up $9,000 by playing the Missouri Lottery’s "Triple Cash" Scratchers game. Jeffrey Bonitt, 51, said he bought two of the $1 tickets when he stopped at Fastrip Store, 1904 E. 32nd in Joplin, for a soda after work on Feb. 10. The second ticket he scratched off was the big winner. "I was glad to have it (prize money)," he said. "It’s sitting in the bank until I decide what to do with it." Bonitt is a janitor for McAuley Regional High School in Joplin. The Missouri Lottery’s $1 "Triple Cash" game officially started Jan. 14.
