Raytown Man Wins Trip To Las Vegas

Story Photo A Raytown couple may be headed to Las Vegas for their 10th anniversary after the husband uncovered a trip prize in the Missouri Lottery’s "$100,000 Vegas Money" Scratchers game. Robert "Dean" Wright, 38, said he may use the trip as an anniversary celebration. He and his wife, Kelli, will be married 10 years on April 12. "I’ve never been there (Las Vegas)," said Wright, who is a technician for Dent Wizard in Lee’s Summit. "We’d been talking about how we need to go there some time." Wright uncovered the prize on Feb. 1, when he stopped in Conoco Short Stop, 6509 Raytown Road in Raytown, after the Super Bowl. He bought two of the $5 tickets, and one of them turned out to be worth a four-day, three-night trip for two to Las Vegas. The prize packet includes round-trip airfare, a choice of deluxe hotel accommodations, hotel ground transfers to and from the airport and $500 spending money. The Missouri Lottery will also pay 25 percent of federal and 4 percent of state withholding taxes on the total prize value. "$100,000 Vegas Money," a $5 Scratchers game, officially went on sale Aug. 23.
