Windsor Family Wins $5,000 Playing Powerball

Story Photo A Windsor family is enjoying a $5,000 windfall after playing numbers from a psychic on a radio show. Marsha Neel, 44, said she and her husband, Brian, have been playing six combinations of six numbers in Powerball since last November, when Brian heard them announced by a psychic on a Kansas City area radio station, 98.9 The Rock. "I wrote them (numbers) in the dust on my window," said Brian, who is a heavy equipment operator in Kansas City, and was listening to the "Johnny Dare and Murphy Show" while working. "Then I called Marsha and told her to write them down." Marsha Neel, an accounts receivable clerk for Royal Oaks Hospital in Windsor, purchased the winning ticket for the Jan. 10 drawing at G & L Liquor, 105 E. Benton in Windsor. The four winning white-ball numbers were 2, 13, 19, 27, and the Powerball number was 5. The Neels, parents of four children, said they plan to use the prize money to pay some bills and to pay off a car loan. With the car loan paid off, Brian Neel plans to buy a new truck.
