Buffalo Policeman Wins Second Big Lottery Prize
The month of January is a lucky month for one Buffalo police officer. On Jan. 21, Robert Troop of Springfield uncovered a $20,000 top prize on the Missouri Lottery’s "Lucky Hearts" Scratchers game. But that’s not the first big prize he’s ever won. On Jan. 24, 2002, he found a $77,777 top prize in the Lottery’s "Super Lucky 7’s" Scratchers game.
"We paid off a second mortgage, bought a car and paid off credit cards with the first prize," he said. "We’ll use this prize money to pay off credit cards and buy a van."
Troop, 36, said he buys Scratchers tickets "off and on."
Troop purchased his recent winning ticket at Jo’s, 1125 U.S. Highway 65 in Buffalo. He said he only bought two "Lucky Hearts" tickets that day. He bought his previous winning ticket at Rapid Roberts in Springfield.
?Lucky Hearts,? a $2 Scratchers game, officially began Jan. 14.
