Eldon Couple Uncover Trip To Vegas

Story Photo An Eldon couple received a big present at a family Christmas gathering this year, when the Scratchers ticket they picked turned out to be worth a trip to Las Vegas. James "Marion" and Jennifer Connell said they celebrated the holiday with several members of Jennifer’s family. Each year, each adult member brings a certain dollar amount of Missouri Lottery tickets, and all the tickets are put into a box. Then they each draw the same dollar amount of tickets out. This year, the Connells won the group’s largest prize: a trip for two to Las Vegas in the "$100,000 Vegas Money" game. "This is going to be a honeymoon for us," said Marion Connell, 47. "We’ve been married for a year and a half. We didn’t get to take one when we got married." Jennifer Connell said she has been to Las Vegas before, but it was a long time ago. Marion Connell has never been there. Both are hoping to see the sights this March. "$100,000 Vegas Money," a $5 Scratchers game, officially went on sale Aug. 23.
