Cuba Man Wins $20,000 Playing 'Lucky Hearts'

Story Photo A 46-year-old Cuba man was waiting for his wife to get off work Friday, Jan. 9, when he decided to play the Missouri Lottery?s ?Lucky Hearts? Scratchers game. John Swaller said he never plays Scratchers tickets, but was bored, so he bought some tickets. Two tickets were non-winners, one was a $2 winner, another was a $10 winner and the fifth ticket was worth $20,000. Swaller purchased his winning ticket at The Rose, 1109 E. Washington in Cuba, which his wife, Rose, owns. The Swallers have no immediate plans for their winnings. ?Lucky Hearts,? a $2 Scratchers game, began selling in store locations last week.
