Belle Man Uncovers $5,000 Crossword Prize

Story Photo A 49-year-old Belle man said it was a ?big relief? when he and his wife uncovered a $5,000 prize on a Missouri Lottery "Crossword" Scratchers ticket. Ernest ?Leon? Price said he was at work today when his wife, Sandy, called and said they had to go to Jefferson City to claim their $5,000 prize. Price, who works as a screen printer for a sign company, said his supervisor was happy to let him off for the rest of the day after learning Price and his wife, Sandy, had won the prize. Sandy Price said she enjoys playing ?Crossword? because it takes longer to play than most other Scratchers games. She bought the winning ticket at Ray Rays, Highway 28 West in Belle. The Prices said they plan to use their winnings to pay taxes and other bills. The Missouri Lottery’s $3 ?Crossword? game officially started Sept. 26.
