Chaffee Woman Wins $100,000 Powerball Prize

Story Photo A nursing home employee from Chaffee received a late Christmas present after she won $100,000 by matching all five white-ball numbers in the Dec. 27 Powerball drawing. Mary Lizenbee, 62, said she was still in shock after realizing she won the second-level prize.

Lizenbee, who does housekeeping and laundry at an area nursing home, said she hasn’t decided what she’ll do with her winnings, but planned to save most of it for her retirement.

Lizenbee purchased her winning ticket at Break Time, Highway 77 and Route E in Chaffee. She let the computer select her winning numbers. They were: 16, 17, 32, 34 and 43.

To date, 674 Powerball tickets sold in Missouri have matched all five white-ball numbers drawn to win the $100,000 prize.
