Missouri City Man Scratches Off $300,000 Prize

A street crew leader for the city of Gladstone got an early Christmas present when he uncovered a $300,000 top prize on a Missouri Lottery "$300,000 Season’s Greetings" Scratchers ticket. Ronald "Ron" Shinneman, 56, of Missouri City, said he bought just one of the $10 tickets on Dec. 12, when he stopped at QuikTrip, 655 S. 291 Highway in Liberty for coffee. He put the ticket in his pocket and scratched it at work, only to discover his huge instant prize.
"I already bought a brand new Ford truck," he said. "I’ll buy a house and pay for it with cash, too."
Shinneman said he also planned to use some prize money to buy furniture for the house, and he plans to have a "nice Christmas."
"$300,000 Season’s Greetings," a $10 Scratchers game, officially went on sale Nov. 1.
