Fulton Couple Find Christmas Cash

A Fulton couple now has an extra $1,000 to buy Christmas gifts with after uncovering a cash prize on a Missouri Lottery "$300,000 Season’s Greetings" Scratchers ticket. Doris and Charles "Charlie" Martin said Doris bought two "$300,000 Season’s Greetings" tickets in Columbia on Nov. 26, and one of them turned out to be worth $25. Later that day, when they got back to their hometown of Fulton, they stopped at Citgo, 500 Highway 54 S. in Fulton, to buy gas. While there, they cashed their $25 prize and bought two more tickets from the same game with the prize winnings. The second ticket they scratched off was worth $1,000.
"We have a lot of grandchildren, so we’ll use it for Christmas," said Charlie Martin.
The Martins have two grown children, 20 grandchildren and two great-grandchildren.
Doris Martin, 63, is retired from the Fulton State Hospital and now works part-time at the Citgo store. Charlie Martin, 68, is a retired construction worker.
