Cab Driver Picks Up $100,000 Powerball Prize

Story Photo A part-time cab driver from Vinita Park picked up a $100,000 prize after matching all five white-ball numbers in the Nov. 22 Powerball drawing. Russell Zorn, 70, said he and his wife, Evelyn, plan to use the prize money to put a new roof on their home. "I thought she (wife) was joking," he said, recalling the night of the drawing, when his wife told him they had won. Zorn purchased his winning ticket at QuikTrip, 2808 Endicott in St. John. He used family birthdays to select the winning numbers. They were: 9, 12, 17, 29 and 45. To date, 671 Powerball tickets sold in Missouri have matched all five white-ball numbers drawn to win the $100,000 prize.
