KANSAN UNCOVERS $100,000 ON MISSOURI LOTTERY TICKET

Story Photo A part-time employee at the Whiskey Rebellion in Rushville got a huge bonus when she bought three Missouri Lottery tickets at work and won $100,000. Rebecca "Becky" Siard, 38, of Atchison, Kan., said on Nov. 11, a co-worker mentioned she was going to buy some tickets. Siard decided she would buy some, also. "I don’t do it (buy tickets) very often, just when I get a whim," said Siard, who is also employed full-time at Atchison Casting in Atchison, Kan. Siard bought three "Merry Money" Scratchers tickets and the third one turned out to be worth the top prize of $100,000. "We have four girls, and they’ve thought of a lot of ways to spend it," Siard mused. "We’ll probably pay bills and maybe get a new house." Siard and her husband, Jim, have four daughters ranging in age from 13 to 18. "Merry Money," a $5 Scratchers game, officially went on sale Nov. 1.
