Jefferson City Man Wins $10,000 In St. Louis

Story Photo A retiree from Jefferson City can do some home improvements after he uncovered a $10,000 top prize on an "In the Money" Scratchers ticket. Jack Goff, 78, said he was visiting his son in St. Louis and on his way out of town on Nov. 13, he drove his son to work. On the way to his son’s workplace, Goff stopped at Johnson’s Amoco, 205 S. Vandeventer in St. Louis, for coffee. While there, he noticed the sign for Lottery tickets, and he decided to buy five $1 tickets from the "In the Money" game. One of those tickets turned out to be worth $10,000. Goff, who is retired from U.S. Steel and the Missouri Department of Corrections, said he and his wife, Gerry, plan to use his prize money to put a new roof on their home and do some other home improvements. They also plans to pay bills with some of the money. "In the Money," a $1 Scratchers game, officially went on sale May 16.
