SCOTT CITY MAN CLAIMS $30,000 PRIZE

An operating room technician for Southeast Hospital in Cape Girardeau recently uncovered a $30,000 top prize in the "Diamond Bingo" Scratchers game. Richard "Rick" Bergen, 34, of Scott City purchased his winning ticket at Discount Cigarettes & Beer in Dexter. Bergen, who said he hardly ever buys lottery tickets, said he plans to use his winnings to pay off a student loan and share some money with his mother and grandmother. "Diamond Bingo" is the 395th Scratchers game offered by the Missouri Lottery. The $2 game officially went on sale Jan. 12.
