ST. PETERS MAN BUYS ONE TICKET, WINS $100,000

Story Photo Watching a popular sitcom paid off for a St. Peters man, who chose the one Scratchers ticket he bought on Nov. 3 after seeing a slot machine by the same name in a recent episode. That ticket turned out to be worth $100,000. Daniel "Dan" Robison, 29, said he had $5 in his pocket after doing some grocery shopping at Schnucks Market, 577 Mid Rivers Mall Drive in St. Peters. He said he chose one $5 "Big Money" Scratchers ticket after remembering that he saw a slot machine by the same name in the "Malcolm in the Middle" sitcom the night before. "I couldn’t believe it," said Robison, who was laid off two weeks ago from his job as a sheet metal worker. "It couldn’t have come at a better time." Robison said he and his wife, Ashley, may use the money to put in an in-ground pool. They also plan to use some of the windfall to pay bills. "$Big Money," a $5 Scratchers game, officially went on sale April 26.
