COWBOYS' FAN WINS $100,000 TAX PAID

Story Photo Team loyalty paid one lucky Dallas Cowboys’ fan $100,000 taxes paid* in the March 15 SHOW ME 5 Paydown drawing. Dennis Cornelius, a barrel shipper for the Perryville Stave Mill, has played the same set of SHOW ME 5 Paydown numbers for years, and they all have one thing in common: they are jersey numbers of Dallas Cowboy quarterbacks. Feeling lucky, Cornelius decided he wanted to try to double his winnings with the game’s $50,000 tax-paid prize and purchased two $1 tickets with the same numbers. "I’ve played these numbers for years," said Cornelius. "I’m the biggest Dallas Cowboys’ fan you’ve ever seen!" Cornelius, 50, purchased his winning tickets at Perryville Conoco, 312 S. Kingshighway in Perryville. His winning numbers (and favorite quarterbacks) were 10, 11, 12, 17 and 18. Besides paying bills, Cornelius plans to buy a brand new, four-wheel drive truck with "Cowboy" colors--blue with gray interior. *The Missouri Lottery will pay 27 percent federal and 4 percent state withholding taxes for the top prize based on it’s value. Depending on personal income, winners may owe additional taxes for the prize, or they may be entitled to a refund. Total value of the top prize is $72,463.76. After withholding, winners will receive $50,000. If more than 14 players match the five winning numbers in a single drawing, $1 million will be divided equally among the number of winning tickets.
