ROLLA MAN WINS $5,000 INSTANTLY

Story Photo A 22-year-old Rolla man added $5,000 to his "rainy day" fund after he uncovered the top prize in the Missouri Lottery’s "Hot Slots" Scratchers game. Matt Murdock, who works in construction, said he bought six Scratchers tickets when he stopped at Rolla Motomart, 119 Howard Johnson Drive in Rolla, on Sept. 20. The winning ticket was the sixth one. "I thought it was a $1,000 winner, but my brother told me to keep scratching it off and it turned out to be a $5,000 winner," he said. The Missouri Lottery’s $1 "Hot Slots" game officially started April 26.
