HARTSBURG HOMEMAKER UNCOVERS $9,000

Story Photo A Hartsburg homemaker found some unexpected cash on Sept. 12 when she scratched off a Missouri Lottery "Triple Win" Scratchers ticket worth $9,000.  Vivian Nichols, 46, said she stopped at Bee Line Snack Shop, 21340 S. Mt. Pleasant Road in Hartsburg, to get gas.  While she was there, she cashed in a previous Scratchers ticket worth $6.  She bought three $1 "Triple Win" tickets and kept the remaining $3.  The first ticket she scratched off was the top-prize winner.

"I just bought some new furniture that morning," she said.   "I’ll use some of the money to pay for the furniture."

Nichols said she and her husband, Edwin, also plan to use some of the money for vinyl flooring for their kitchen.

"Triple Win," a $1 Scratchers game, officially went on sale July 26.
