A 59-year-old brick mason from Mountain Grove is planning to see Las Vegas for the first time after winning a trip in the Missouri Lottery’s new "$100,000 Vegas Money" Scratchers game.   Virgle Rhodes, 59, said he only bought one $5 Scratchers ticket when he stopped in Town & Country Supermarket in Mountain Grove on Aug. 29.  It turned out to be worth a trip winner.
"It was raining, so we couldn’t work," he said.  "I was on my way home when I stopped to buy a ticket."
"$100,000 Vegas Money" officially started on Aug. 23 and offers players the chance to win one of 50 trips to Las Vegas and up to $100,000 cash.
The Las Vegas travel packages include a 4-day, 3-night trip for two to Las Vegas, round-trip airfare, a choice of deluxe hotel accommodations, hotel ground transfers to and from the airport and $500 spending money.  The Missouri Lottery also will pay 25 percent of federal and 4 percent of state withholding taxes based on the total trip prize value.
