CHARLESTON WOMAN UNCOVERS $50,000 PRIZE INSTANTLY

A Charleston woman can remodel her home after winning a $50,000 top prize in the Missouri Lottery’s "Crossword" Scratchers game.   Rachel Waters, 59, said her husband, James, bought one ticket on Aug. 12 at Quick Chek Market, 1801 E. Malone in Sikeston, when he stopped for a soda.  He handed the ticket to Rachel to scratch off, and the ticket turned out to be worth $50,000.

Waters said in addition to remodeling their home, they also plan to buy a lot, buy a new car for herself and a pickup truck for James.

The Missouri Lottery’s $3 "Crossword" game officially started March 29.
