Three Illinois co-workers are sharing $50,000 tax paid* after matching all five numbers drawn March 4 in the Missouri Lottery’s SHOW ME 5 Paydown game. The winners are: Bob Christeson, 63, of Alton, Ill.; Lori Oelrich, 35, of Fairview Heights, Ill.; and Patricia Adkins, 48, of Belleville, Ill. The trio all work for a doctor’s office; Oelrich and Adkins are also sisters. Each will receive a check for approximately $16,666. Adkins said she plans to use her check to pay off her home loan. She said Oelrich plans to buy a new car with her share, but she isn’t sure what Christeson will do with his money. Christeson purchased the group’s winning ticket at Fisca Oil, 14700 Highway 67 N. in W. Alton. They used numbers from Oelrich’s birthday -- Jan. 27, 1967 -- to select the winning numbers. They were: 1, 6, 7, 19 and 27. SHOW ME 5 Paydown is a daily game that has a top prize of $50,000 tax paid along with a Paydown feature that, if the top prize is not won that night, the other prizes will more than double. The game also offers prizes for matching two, three and four numbers. The overall odds of winning a prize are 1 in 10.97. * The Missouri Lottery will pay 27 percent federal and 4 percent state withholding taxes for the top prize based on it’s value. Depending on personal income, winners may owe additional taxes for the prize, or they may be entitled to a refund. Total value of the top prize is $72,463.76. After withholding, winners will receive $50,000. If more than 14 players match the five winning numbers in a single drawing, $1 million will be divided equally among the number of winning tickets.
