SPRINGFIELD MEAT CUTTER SLICES UP $30,000

Story Photo The meat department manager for Dillons, 1260 E. St. Louis St. in Springfield, is having a great day after uncovering a $30,000 prize on a Missouri Lottery Scratchers ticket this morning.   Jack Huntley, 55, said every morning before he clocks in to work, he buys one Scratchers ticket.  He said he had a $10 bill "burning a hole in his pocket" today, so he bought a $10 "$300,000 Casino Thrills" Scratchers ticket.  It turned out to be a big winner.

"It’s my morning ritual," he explained.   "Before I punch in, I buy one and see what kind of day it’ll be."

Huntley said he and his wife, Geri, plan to use some of their prize money to take their daughter on a trip to Hawaii next spring to celebrate her graduation from pharmaceutical college.   He said he also plans to buy a new set of golf clubs.

"$300,000 Casino Thrills," a $10 Scratchers game, officially went on sale June 7.
