MARSHFIELD RETIREE FINDS $25,000 TOP PRIZE

Story Photo A retired teamster from Marshfield uncovered a top prize of $25,000 in the Missouri Lottery’s "25 Grand" Scratchers game on Aug. 5.   William "Bill" Brungard, 63, said each morning, he stops in Country Express in Marshfield and buys some Lottery tickets, and today was no exception.  The only $2 "25 Grand" ticket he uncovered turned out to be worth the top prize of $25,000.

Brungard, who retired from his freight-handling job in 1994, said he and his wife plan to use their prize money to pay some bills, put some in savings and share some with their four grown children.   They also plan to take a vacation to Connecticut to visit their son and his family.

“25 Grand,” a $2 Scratchers game, officially went on sale Dec. 11, 2002.
