FULTON HOMEMAKER WINS $50,000 TAX PAID

Story Photo A Fulton homemaker can spruce up the house after winning $50,000 tax paid* in the Missouri Lottery’s SHOW ME 5 Paydown game on July 28.   Caroline Lamons-Trowbridge, 55, said she and her husband, Fred, plan to use the winnings to make some home improvements, pay bills and put some money in savings.

"We may even take a trip," she said.

Lamons-Trowbridge said her husband purchased her winning ticket on July 28 at Luebberings 66 City View, Highways 54 and OO in Holts Summit.   She said she used some significant dates, like ages and anniversaries, to select her lucky numbers.  They were:  6, 16, 21, 30 and 37.

But this isn’t the first time the Fulton homemaker has won playing the Lottery.   On July 13, she won $3,000 playing Pick 4.

To date, 58 players have matched all five numbers drawn to win $50,000 tax paid in SHOW ME 5 Paydown since the game began Nov. 6, 2000.

*   The Missouri Lottery will pay 27 percent federal and 4 percent state withholding taxes for the top prize based on it’s value.  Depending on personal income, winners may owe additional taxes for the prize, or they may be entitled to a refund.  Total value of the top prize is $72,463.76.  After withholding, winners will receive $50,000.  If more than 14 players match the five winning numbers in a single drawing, $1 million will be divided equally among the number of winning tickets.
