“I usually just cash in my tickets for more tickets,” Akers said. “It’s been a lucky game for me.”
Akers said she stopped at Hy-Vee Gas, 1230 Washington St. in Chillicothe, to buy gas and cash in some winning Scratchers tickets. With her winnings, she bought two “Crossword” tickets, and one of them proved to be a $50,000 winner.
Akers said the win is going to allow her and her husband, Marvin, to speed up their plans to build a home. She said they have already purchased the land and were saving up money to build their new home.
The Missouri Lottery’s $3 "Crossword" game officially started March 29.
