Story Photo An Amoco store clerk in Macon was having some fun Wednesday buying Scratchers tickets back and forth with a customer when she (the store clerk) ended up $1,040 richer.  Brenda Dobbs, 43, of La Plata said the first “Treasure Island” ticket she bought was a non-winner.  Then, after the customer bought a few tickets, she bought a second ticket which turned out to be a $10 winner.  She played another round and won $30.  Before it was all over, she had scratched off another winning ticket worth $1,000.

The customer playing with her said jokingly, “Hey, I was going to buy that one,” and then shook her hand and told her congratulations.

Dobbs, who purchased her winning tickets at the store where she works --Macon Amoco, 1707 N. Missouri in Macon--said she planned to use the money to buy some new clothes for her granddaughter who was starting kindergarten this fall.  She said she also might use some of the money to pay off a few bills and take a trip to Illinois to see her family.

Treasure Island," a $2 Scratchers game, officially went on sale April 26.
