A Joplin homemaker who decided to make a quick stop for a soda and a Scratchers ticket ended up taking home $30,000 on Thursday. Holly Nothnagle, 28, said she purchased the winning “$300,000 Casino Thrills” ticket at Super Stop, 1817 Washington in Seneca, and later scratched it off in her truck. "My family thought it was a fake," she said when she collected her prize at the Springfield Lottery office on July 3. “They made me swear I was telling them the truth.”
Nothnagle, who currently lives in a mobile home with her husband and two children, said they planned to use the money towards building a new home.
“My kids are tired of sharing a room,” she said.
"$300,000 Casino Thrills," a $10 Scratchers game, officially went on sale June 7.
