NORTH ST. LOUIS MAN WINS $50,000 TAX PAID

A 80-year-old retiree from North St. Louis (63136*) played numbers that he dreamt a couple of years ago and won $50,000 tax paid* playing SHOW ME 5 Paydown on June 17.   Charlie Green said he plans to save most of his winnings.

"I might take a little vacation," he said.

Green purchased his winning ticket at Shop-N-Gas, 11105 Old Halls Ferry in St. Louis.  The winning numbers were 5, 30, 33, 35 and 38.

To date, 57 players have matched all five numbers drawn to win $50,000 tax paid in SHOW ME 5 Paydown since the game began Nov. 6, 2000.

*  The Missouri Lottery will pay 27 percent federal and 4 percent state withholding taxes for the top prize based on it’s value.  Depending on personal income, winners may owe additional taxes for the prize, or they may be entitled to a refund.  Total value of the top prize is $72,463.76.  After withholding, winners will receive $50,000.  If more than 14 players match the five winning numbers in a single drawing, $1 million will be divided equally among the number of winning tickets.
