Story Photo A Fayetteville, Ark., woman is counting her blessings three times over after she won three times on one Powerball ticket to win $10,004.   Therese Crosby, 44, said she was really shocked after realizing she won the third-level prize twice when two separate plays on her ticket matched four of the five white-ball numbers plus the Powerball number drawn Saturday to double the prize amount of $5,000.  A third play on the same ticket matched one white-ball number and the Powerball number to win $4.

Crosby, a nurse, said her husband, Phillip, who is with the Army Reserves and is currently stationed in Iraq, called home Wednesday morning and got the good news.

“He was excited and asked, ‘What are you going to buy?’” Crosby said about her husband when she claimed her prize at the Springfield office Wednesday.  Crosby said the money will help to take some of the stress off the family until her husband returns home.   She said she plans to put her winnings in the bank and use it to help send her 18-year-old son to college in the fall.  The couple also have two other sons.

Crosby purchased her winning ticket at Don’s Stateline Store, Highway 71 in Pineville.  She selected her winning numbers from the Powerball frequency chart found on the Lottery’s Web site, www.molottery.com.
